Buying Tips for Men
Designer beaded bracelets using pearls, bali beads, swarovski crystal and other beautiful, unique materials by Gail E. Melichar.
Acrylic CZ
These are vintage acrylic beads with Swarovski crystal in the middle. These beads are fascinating works of art and are very light in weight. The Swarovski diamond shape crystal adds an extra bit of sparkle. This bracelet is a true conversation piece!
Bali Beads & Swarovski Crystal Tear Drop
I strung flower bali beads together and spread Swarovski tear drop crystals through it intermittently. One of my customers liked it so much that she asked if I could make a matching necklace. I liked the way it came out so much that both items became a part of my collection.
Blue Chalcedony
This bracelet is the same style as the purple chalcedony - the tear drop shaped stone and box-shaped clasp. The color in this bracelet is a beautiful blue and works well with blues, grays, blacks - a variety of colors. It looks good if you are going out for the evening or out to dinner in an old pair of jeans.
Cube Crystal & Copper-Lined Beads
This bracelet is my answer to the gold and silver problem. I used Swarovski cube crystals and combined them with copper-lined faceted glass beads. Both the crystal and glass bead have an AB coating that adds an extra bit of sparkle. If you are looking for something fun and fancy - this bracelet is the answer!
Cube Crystal & Faceted White Pearls
I used Swarovski 10mm cube crystals and combined them with faceted white pearls. The crystal has an AB coating that adds an extra bit of sparkle. This bracelet will be great for a night out or a day at the office.
Double-Drilled Pearls & Swarovski Crystal
I love these pearls because of their unique double holes, but wasn't really sure what to do with them! Then I got a call from someone who wanted me to make bridal party necklaces for her daughter's wedding. After far too many combinations I came up with something I liked -- a choker with these pearls, Swarovski crystals and a double-strand clasp. Then I came up with this matching bracelet.
Flower Bali Beads & Cubic Zirconia Rondel
This bracelet was inspired by the Pearl & Bali Beads with Gold-Filled Rondels necklace that I did for my mother and her friends. I actually saw diamond rondels, but those were cost-prohibitive. So, I used the next best thing - cz rondels and added gold-filled rondels to accentuate each side.
Garnet & Seed Bead
I had a red outfit and needed a bracelet to go with it. I used varying sizes of garnet. Then I mixed in a faceted tube bead. I wanted something a little more dainty than a cuff-style bracelet so I used a two-strand clasp. If you like garnet, you'll love this!
Geometric Double Pearl
This is a stunning, dramatic piece of pearl jewelry. If you have no patience with the traditional princess strand of pearls, you will love this bold geometric bracelet. I interspersed the unique, double-drilled diamond-shaped pearls with smaller round pearls -- top and bottom. The effect is like no other bracelet I've seen. While certainly dramatic, this is a very versatile piece of jewelry. You'll love it!
Gold-Filled Beads & Silver Bali Beads
I especially like this bracelet because I can wear it with silver and gold and not have to commit to one or the other. I used gold-filled beads and silver bali beads with a triple-strand clasp. This also has a matching necklace.
Gold-Filled Beads & Swarovski Crystal
So when everyone else was making crystal stretchy bracelets, I needed to be different. I came up with the Swarovski crystal zig zag bracelet on elastikord first and then this design. I wear a whole bunch of these together and it looks fabulous.
Lemon Topaz
This is my one of my favorite bracelets because the cut of the topaz gives this such a sparkle that they look like diamonds on your arm. I found a wonderful citrine box-shaped clasp to match.
Machine-Cut Sterling Beads
These amazing sterling silver ball beads have an intricate machine-cut wave pattern that catches the light in an intense way. I spaced them with spool-shaped bali beads. Sure to draw comments from appreciative onlookers, this bracelet looks great with jeans or dressed up. It coordinates with many of my sterling silver necklaces, too - including a matching machine-cut sterling bead necklace! (Just click "Coordinating items" under the image.)
Memory Wire Swarovski Crystal & Bali Beads
I never really knew what to do with memory wire. One day I was just playing around with it and came up with this design of large round Swarovski crystals and silver bali beads. There is such a sparkle to this bracelet. There is no clasp on this design - just put it on your wrist and go!
Multi-Strand Beige Pearl
Like most unique items, I found these clasps at a gem show. The clasp is truly the showcase of this piece. I tried to combine other materials with this clasp, but finally found that old adage is true - less is more. The beige pearls give just enough to enhance the clasp without detracting from its beauty. Definitely a winner!
Multi-Strand Turquoise & Seed Bead
I made this bracelet with a friend of mine in mind. She loves turquoise and has been one of my biggest supporters. I combined seed beads with a few strands of turquoise. I topped it off with a triple-strand clasp to create a cuff-style bracelet.
Multi-Strand Zig Zag Pearl
So when everyone else was making crystal stretchy bracelets, I needed to be different. I came up with this design on elastikord and then found a wonderful mult-strand clasp. It gives a cuff effect that I just love.
Oblong Silver Bali & Silver Dangles
I always refer to this as my "funky" bracelet. The look of it is just so fun. I used oblong bali beads. (I also used these as vases in my daughter's doll house!) Then I wire-wrapped silver dangles inbetween the bali beads. I wear this with the multi-colored pearl necklace that doubles as a bracelet.
Pearl & Smoky Quartz with Bali Beads
This bracelet incorporates many different elements. I used small faceted smoky quartz rondels with pearls and heavy silver bali beads. This is a perfect everyday bracelet and sure to please.
Pearl with Rhinestone Rondels
The pearls matched with the silver or gold rhinestone rondels makes for a gorgeous bracelet. I used elastikord for flexibility. I put one or two of these together and sometimes combine it with a clear crystal or diamond tennis bracelet. Nancy O'Dell (from Access Hollywood) saw this bracelet on a friend of mine and ended up with the matched set - the Tin Cup Pearl and Rondel necklace and this bracelet!
Personalized Bali Beads & Hearts
These bracelets can be personalized for any name you want. This is another take on the old ID bracelets or baby bracelets with your child's name on it.

The "silver name" is surrounded by silver flower bali beads, heart charms, and oblong bali beads.

This is a perfect gift for a brand new mom or any mother in your life.
Personalized Crystal & Heart Charm
These bracelets can be personalized for any name you want. I used tubes of silver mixed with Swarsovski vitriol diamond 4mm shaped crystals. The multi strands of crystal and silver add a touch of elegance to an old favorite. The heart charm will let that certain someone know how much she's loved. I used a silver multi-strand clasp.
Personalized Seed Beads & Heart Charm
These bracelets can be personalized for any name you want. This is another take on the old ID bracelets or baby bracelets with your child's name on it.

A delicate mixture of crystals and a double strand of seed beads. The "silver name" is surrounded by a Swarovski diamond shaped crystal and a silver heart charm.

These bracelets can also be ordered in childrens' sizes (see the kids section). This is a perfect gift for a brand new mom or any mother in your life. Other colors available upon request.
Pink Tourmaline
I fell in love with the color of this tear drop shape pink tourmaline. It is such a rich, deep color pink. The tear drops are faceted and, although they are small in size, they make up for their size in beauty and luster. I used a silver box-shaped semi-precious clasp.

Once my supply of these is used, I don't know that I will be able to replace the quality of this tourmaline. So, get it while you can!
Round Crystal & Vermeil Bali Beads
Talk about sparkle! These Swarovski clear round crystals are 12mm. Each side has a vermeil bali bead and is accentuated by a small clear crystal rondel. Each of the crystals has an AB coating which makes this bracelet feel like a giant prism reflecting light.
Silver Chain with Sterling Heart
This bracelet has a toggle closure and a dangling heart. It makes a simple, elegant statement that can be worn with almost anything. It is also a sweet way to say "I Love You" to that someone special!
Smoky Quartz & Diamond Bali Beads
I love the cut of these faceted smoky quartz rondels. The deep color is rich enough to wear with browns, blacks, blues, grays - just about everything. The simple silver diamond shape bali bead adds an extra bit of sparkle.
Smoky Quartz Cushion Cut
I had to find something else to make with these delicious cuts of smoky quartz. I loved the name of this stone, "Smoky Quartz Cushion Cut." To me, they look like little diamond shaped pillows of smoky quartz. This can be worn for both daytime and evening affairs and coordinates well with a variety of colors.
Swarovski Crystal Button
The Swarovski Crystal Button Bracelet was born from an image I had in my head, but I couldn't find the necessary materials, so I ended up making everything myself. These bracelets are labor-intensive, but whenever I wear it I am always stopped. During my last trip to NYC, as the airport security guard was taking away my jewelry making tools, she wanted to know where I got my gorgeous bracelet!

Halle Berry, Pauletta (Denzel) Washington and Lesly (Pat) Sajak are just a few who own one of these bracelets.

All the Swarovski Crystal button bracelets have a silver clasp except for the multi-colored one, which is vermeil.
Swarovski Cube Crystal & Bali Beads
I wear this bracelet almost everyday because it truly goes with everything. I used 10mm clear Swarovski crystal AB cubes and interspersed silver bali beads. My daughter likes how this makes a rainbow effect on the roof of the car. I also combine this with a diamond tennis bracelet for a night on the town.
Swarovski Vitriol Crystal & Silver Bali Beads
This bracelet can be worn with just about any color - that's why I love to use the Swarovski vitriol 4mm diamond shaped crystal. I also used flower bali beads and a triple-strand clasp.
Swarovski Vitriol Cube Crystal & Flat Bali Beads
I needed a bracelet to match the Tin Cup Vitriol necklace. So, I used Swarovski vitriol crystal AB cubes and flat silver bali beads. I found that I could use this as an everyday bracelet (when I'm not wearing the clear cube Swarovski crystal bracelet).
Vermeil Bali Beads & White Pearl
This bracelet is similar to the Pearl & Bali Bead with Gold-Filled Rondel necklace, but instead of silver I used vermeil bali beads. I often get asked to make things in gold. I use vermeil, unless otherwise requested, as a gold substitute. This is a classy, gold bracelet. A must see.
White Pearl & Bali Beads
This bracelet was made to compliment the Pearl & Bali Beads with Gold-Filled Rondels Single Strand Necklace (otherwise known as the YaYa necklace). So many of my mom's friends bought the necklace and wanted something equally as nice for their wrist.

This bracelet has silver bali beads with white pearls that are surrounded by gold-filled rondels. This bracelet can be used for any time - day or night.
Zig Zag Pearl
So when everyone else was making crystal stretchy bracelets, I needed to be different. I came up with this design on elastikord and, unlike those crystal bracelets, people are still buying these. I match these bracelets with glass bead bracelets on elastikord, wear more than one, or wear them alone.
Zig Zag Turquoise Glass Bead
I like the zig zag pearls so much that when I found this glass turquoise bead that makes a tear drop zig zag pattern, I knew I had to make something out of it. The box-shaped clasp really pulled the whole look together.
